Hello and welcome to the Woodpecker class page.
My name is Mrs. Howie and I am one of the teachers in the Woodpecker class, teaching Monday to Wednesday. I have been teaching for over 20 years and am currently covering Mrs. Saberton-Kitch whilst she is on maternity leave. I have always taught in Key Stage 1 and some EYFS. I have previously led PSHE, RE, Phonics and English. I enjoy walking and reading.

We enjoy walking, travelling and watching films

Information on home learning
Please visit https://www.cambslearntogether.co.uk/home-learning for information from the Local Authority.
Weekly homework challenges include: spellings, reading, Bug Club and work set on Google Classroom.
Children are expected to read at home regularly and bring their reading book to school on their timetabled day.
If your child is having a school dinner then please share the different options available with them so that they know whether they are having the meat, vegetarian or pick and mix option.
During the Summer term the children will complete their phonics screening check. This is a National test which all children in Year 1 are required to complete. We will be working towards this throughout the year.
We have a brilliant year ahead and we are really looking forward to working with the children and supporting them in their learning. If you have any questions then please let us know.
