Welcome to the Goldfinches Class!

Hello my name is Mrs Saberton-Kitch and I teach Year 3 on Mondays, Tuesdays and  Wednesdays. I have been teaching for 17 years and I've taught in both KS1 and KS2. In my free time I like having fun and making memories with my daughter. I am looking forward to our exciting year ahead and being one of your teachers in Year 3.

Hello, my name is Mrs Cole and I am very excited to be teaching Year 3 this year on a Thursday and Friday. I have been teaching for nine years now. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing and spending time with my family. I particulary enjoy days out to the beach or a picnic! We have lots of exciting new things to learn this year - I can't wait!

We have some really interesting topics to look forward to this academic year:

Autumn 1- The Stone Age to the Iron Age

Autumn 2- Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Rocks and Fossils

Spring 1- Settlements

Spring 2- Ancient Egypt

Summer 1 -The UK and the local area

Summer 2 -Ancient Maya

PE is on Wednesdays and Thursdays, please make sure your child comes to school in their P.E. kit and that it is suitable for the weather. The lesson on Wednesday will always be outside. 

Useful Information

• Children are expected to read regularly and bring their reading book and diary to school every day.
• Homework is uploaded to Google Classroom every Thursday and is due in on Tuesday. 
• Spellings are sent home every Thursday and your child will be tested on these the Thursday after they have been set.
• If your child is having a school dinner then please share the different options available to them so that they know whether they are having the meat, vegetarian, jacket potato or pick 'n' mix option.

HOMEWORK

For the main focus of homework we would like to see the children reading, spelling and practising their number skills. We have some school linked websites to support this, and we hope you are able to support your child in accessing these at least once a week. The links are as follows:
