Reach for the stars, be the best that we can be
Hello, I'm Mrs Penney and I am very excited to be teaching Year 3 this year. I am the Music and History lead and this will be my eighth year at Coates Primary School. I love to sing and play the piano and also love sewing in my spare time as well as spend lots of time with my family.
We have some really interesting topics to look forward to this academic year:
Autumn 1- Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Rocks
Autumn 2- Stone - Iron Age
Spring 1- Settlements
Spring 2- Ancient Egypt
Summer 1 - Ancient Maya
Summer 2 - The UK
For Autumn Term, PE is on Tuesdays. On Thursdays from the week beginning the 12.9.22 we will be going swimming on Thursdays.

HOMEWORK
For the main focus of homework I would like to see the children reading, spelling and practicing their number skills. We have some school linked websites to support this, and I hope you are able to support your child in accessing these at least once a week. The links are as follows:

We were very lucky to take part in a Circus Skills workshop, it was lots of fun learning how to spin plates and juggle!
We made Bronze Age inspired roundhouses as part of our Stone - Iron Age topic in our DT lessons.
We have been busy designing and creating our own volcano models using papier mache. We then painted them and created a chemical reaction to explode them!
