Goldfinches – Year 3
Welcome to the Goldfinches Class!
Hello my name is Mrs Saberton-Kitch and I teach Year 3 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I have been teaching for nearly 20 years and I've taught in both KS1 and KS2. In my free time, I like having fun and making memories with my daughter. I am looking forward to our exciting year ahead and being one of your teachers in Year 3.
Hi, I'm Mrs Taylor and I teach in Year 3 on Thursdays and Fridays. I love reading, and have a secret library in my house! I am really into F1, and I was extremely happy when Lando Norris secured the Driver World Championship last year. I enjoy being creative and making things - I also try and squeeze in some time doing cross stitch, which I find very relaxing in the evening.
We have some really interesting topics to look forward to this academic year:
Autumn 1-Volcanoes, Earthquakes, Rocks and Fossils
Autumn 2-The Stone Age to the Iron Age
Spring 1- Settlements
Spring 2- Ancient Egypt
Summer 1 -The UK and the local area
What is happening on which day?
PE
PE is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please make sure you come to school in your P.E. kit and that it is suitable for the weather.
Reading
Children are expected to read at least 5 times a week and bring their reading book and diary to school every day. Their reading records will be checked every Thursday. Children can change their reading book any day of the week but we will check if they need to change it on Thursdays.
Homework
- Homework is uploaded to Century every Thursday and is due in on Tuesday. The link can also be found on Google Classroom.
- We also use Times Table Rock Stars for homework. Make sure you practise this at home as part of your homework.
Spellings
- Spelling tests will take place on Thursday and are sent home every Friday. They will be sent home via a paper copy with the test on one side and their new spellings to learn on the other side.
