Yellowhammers – Year 2
Welcome to Yellowhammers!
Hi my name is Miss Smith, this is my second year teaching at Coates Primary School. I am super excited about teaching in Year 2 this year. In my spare time I enjoy watching rugby and taking my dog on walks.

Reading
Please ensure you read at least 5 times a week. Reading diaries will be counted each Thursday. The children can change their reading book when they have finished it.
Homework
Homework will be set on Century this year. Each week a Maths and a Reading nugget will be set to be completed. Homework is set each Thursday and due in on Tuesday.
Spellings
Spelling tests will be on Thursdays and new spellings will be sent home on Friday.
PE Days Wednesday and Thursday
PE will be taught on Wednesday and Thursday, please can the children wear PE kit on these days.
Teach your Monster to Read!
We have a fab new platform for the children to practise their phonics skills at home and at school. It is called Teach your Monster to Read. It is free to use on an internet browser. The children have been shown how to use it and are very excited to use it!
